Homeschooling and living super frugally has allowed us to take a few trips down the Baja Peninsula, Mexico. We save and save and save all year in order to take this winter time trip. This time we were gone for 8 weeks. Here are a few photos.
Christmas Eve on the beach! Part of our good life is a semi-yearly mega road trip from our Pacific NW home to the southern tip of Baja California Sur, Mexico. We pack up the truck and camper with lots of food, lots of clothes, kayaks, bikes, surf board, kiteboard gear, camp gear, camp stove etc and leave the winter behind for 6 or 7 weeks! It is a wonderful journey to take as a family as we are together in close quarters without any outside obligations or high tech temptations for the whole time! This year was exceptionally wonderful as the kids were older, no babies, no diapers, no nursing, no worrying about running off. . . which meant that I FINALLY learned to kiteboard! It is a TOUGH sport to learn, with a huge learning curve that I made GIGANTIC (it took me 3 years or more to figure it out)! But by the time we left our little spot, I had it down!
Lots of people ask what we do down there, how we are able to leave for such a long time, do we get bored, are we scared etc. . .I will dive in to those topics shortly! But, for now, here are some pics of our adventure!
