Keeping things simple in an otherwise complicated world can be difficult. Especially when it comes to parenting. It’s so easy to overbook activities for our kids. They always want to be on the go and to be visiting friends and jumping from one activity to the next. But, it’s been our experience that the MORE we are together, playing, working or just ‘being’ the better our whole family gets along. The more we do, the more chaos creeps into our house! Especially with kids, they pretty much get along most of the time, better than most brothers, I think. The exception . . . when we find ourselves too busy.
I love, love, love Simplicity Parenting. I’ve just recently found this book and it really solidified my ideas about home life being better when it’s simpler. Anyway, this is just a ramble, more for my own good than for yours. It seems that my personality wants to be busy more than Isaac’s, so we struggle within our relationship a little bit with how much the kids should be allowed to do.
