Sunday morning we left LA at around 7:00 a.m. Once again, we skipped all of San Diego traffic by going around to the East. We were to the border by 9:00, they just let us right through after having a quick look insider our camper. Then we pulled over to get our tourist permsts, they were $25.00 each and easy peasy to get this time. They have totally revamped the border, it’s clean and very official and flows in a very not so Mexican way. Before, you could see the grimy city of Tijuana and people would be begging. But now, it’s all official business and walled off. Before 10:00 we were on the road to Ensenada. There are toll roads the whole way, which we always take. They are better roads and safer, too, but they cost about $3.70 at each booth. There were or 4 booths, so it definitely adds up. We stayed just south of San Quintin at a beach by Celito Lindo, it was a beautiful, super long stretch of beach. We had a big pan of green chile burritos that I had made and then listened to our book Hattie Big Sky. I’m really enjoying it and the boys are, too, although they won’t adimit it!
